There are many valuable ways to support
MERIT’s
efforts to assist underserved
microentrepreneurs achieve their dream of owning a business. Support
can include
volunteering,
mentoring, shopping at our alumni businesses, and contributing
directly
to sustain the operation of our program. All of these contributions
enable us to further our economic impact in Marion, Polk, and Yamhill
Counties.
Volunteer
MERIT relies on volunteers to run a successful program.
We offer volunteer opportunities for professionals and entrepreneurs
who wish to give back to the business community by using their
experience,
skills and expertise to help local small businesses.
Volunteer
Opportunities Include
Business/Peer Mentors—provide emerging
entrepreneurs
with guidance and advice while they start and grow their businesses.
Guest Speakers—share your experience as a
business
owner, or share your expertise on a relevant business topic in a
classroom setting.
Training Class Assistant—assist the class
facilitator
with organizing, preparing and running orientations and weekly classes.

Financial Contributions
MERIT's programs would not be possible without the generous support of
individuals,
foundations, local and national grants. Our goal is to provide business
services
to those individuals who cannot access traditional means of education
and support
for some reason. Your financial donation contributes to our mission by
allowing
us to continue providing services at no cost to these qualified
individuals.
Help support our local community and someone’s
entrepreneurial dream,
by donating
directly to MERIT.
